As a public service, the Institute sponsors some events that benefit the local and regional film going and filmmaking community. The Institute embraces diversity and places emphasis on those not yet represented adequately in the film industry with a special focus on Latin American cinema, in particular Mexican filmmaking and Native American filmmaking.
