The Hanson Film Institute develops and supports learning opportunities, in particular internships, for degree seeking University of Arizona students that enhance their academic program to further students understanding of the art and business of film and its ancillary outlets, such as television.
The Jack and Vivian Hanson Arizona Film Institute Intern Scholarship Program supports University of Arizona students who have undertaken internships that combine the artistic and the business aspects of film and/or television production.
The Hanson Intern Scholarship is open to all University of Arizona students. At the time of the award, the student must be enrolled in internship credit (393, 493, 593) in a University of Arizona academic department. The process is competitive and funds are limited.

The Jack and Vivian Hanson Arizona Film Institute Travel Grant Program supports University of Arizona student attendance (travel, hotel, and fees) at conferences and seminars that meets the mission of the Hanson Institute to advance an understanding of the art and business of film.
The Hanson Travel Grant Program is open to all University of Arizona students. The grant process is competitive and funds are limited.

The Institute provided financial support for this School of Media Arts special project. The School was invited by the Eastman Kodak Company to participate in a program designed to give students the opportunity to produce, direct, and shoot a short 35mm film. The film will premiere at a special screening in Los Angeles in 2007. The project was guided by Media Arts faculty Lisanne Skyler, Patrick Roddy, and Michael Mulcahy.
